A meeting to discuss the Twentieth Reunion for the Poly Class of ’81 was held in Los Angeles on January 8, 2000. Robert Hain and his significant other Donna, Pam Maxwell, Scott Matulis, Bob Kollar, Kathy (Gatherum) Lucker, and Mary Jane Flores Barger shared cocktails, dinner and ideas about “What in the Heck do we do for our 20th year reunion?” Teresa (Napoli) Williamson participated by telephone.

Preliminary ideas

Based on the brainstorming and review of the completed website surveys that we received, the consensus was to have a reunion dance held on a Saturday evening at Poly’s Gymnasium featuring a band playing classic 70’s and 80’s music. We found, however, that because this event would be on school propert we would not be able to provide any alcoholic beverages! Another idea was to have a Saturday afternoon event that involved the opening of our time capsule on the school grounds and activities in the gym that included our children. Having the Poly band and cheerleaders would sure bring back memories of our high school days. Other ideas were to have a more formal dinner/dance held at the Holiday Inn (downtown Riverside), the Victoria Country Club, the Mission Inn, or one of the Ontario Airport area hotels.
